Nature's bounty... at Durham City Farmers' Market

Have you discovered Durham City Farmers' Market yet?

Taking place in our historic Market Place on the third Thursday of each month from 9am to 3:30pm, Durham City Farmers' Market features a wide variety of local, free-range and fresh produce from across the North East.

Durham Markets established the City Farmers' Market 12 years ago, as a way of connecting farmers with the public and bringing a wide range of locally produced food straight to the masses.

Our farmers are hugely experienced independents who are real experts in their field, and the variety and quality of their offering makes the Farmers' Market a truly alternative way to shop.

By cutting out the middle men and buying direct, produce here is much cheaper than in your average supermarket... and the food tastes really fresh!

It's also the perfect way to reduce your weekly food miles and support the local economy, picking up local independent produce within hours of it being picked.

Who's coming in July?:

Why not come along this Thursday to find out what’s in season, chat to the stallholders and get ideas for new recipes.

Whatever the weather, we'll be happy to see you! :-)

Future 2012 Durham City Farmers Market dates for your diary:
  • Thursday 20th July
  • Thursday 16th August
  • Thursday 20th September
  • Thursday 18th October
  • Thursday 15th November
