Join us for our Saturday Outdoor market!

Saturday Market listing - 1 June 2013

Join us for a great day out in Durham this Saturday, and enjoy a wide range of stalls at the Outdoor Market.  

Also, Durham's Saturday Outdoor Market will be in open for business in the Market Place. And The Market Hall, with over 50 stalls by quality local independents, will be open as usual too.  Here's the line up for our Saturday Market this week:

Durham Market Place will swing this Bank Holiday!


Nostalgia Weekend with Vintage and General Market

Bank Holiday weekend will be swinging in Durham Market Place with a nostalgia weekend, bringing the sounds and sights of the 1940s alongside a vibrant vintage market.

Make sure you come down on Sunday May 26th and Monday May 27th between 11am and 4pm - there will be something for all the family.

All part of Love Your Local Market fortnight, which runs from 15th to 29th May, this vintage market, and the accompanying general market introduce a whole host of traders who you've not seen before in Durham Market Place.

So come and explore! There's vintage clothes and antiques as well as gifts, food, and lots more. 

Adding to the atmosphere, we'll have WWII jeeps, and a WWII Dodge weapons carrier in the Market Place, and period re-enactors from Yesterday’s Heroes local living history group in WWII American infantry and US Naval uniforms.  

And there's musical entertainment too from Jay-B & Miss Becky Clayburn, who will be performing 1940s swing music throughout each day.  

There will also be a Nostalgia Tearoom in the Market Place, with outside seating; The Keep Calm and Carry On Café!

And on Monday 27th May The Market Hall, with over 50 stalls by quality local independents, will be openfrom 11am to 4pm too!

Meet our future entrepreneurs at Durham's first Youth Market

Durham's Inaugural Youth Market

Sunday May 19th, 2013 in the Market Place

As part of Love Your Local Market fortnight, Durham Markets is proudly presenting its Inaugural Youth Market, showcasing young talent who could well be the retail entrepreneurs of the future.

From 11am to 4pm on Sunday May 19th, in the Market Square, enjoy exploring new products created by these young traders, aged from 16 up.

And we'll have musical entertainment too!  David Ball will be performing the Market Place - first performance around 12.45pm.  David is a wonderful swing singer, who has featured in his own show at the Gala Theatre .. and comes to the Youth Market fresh from performing on a cruise ship.

Durham's Farmers Market back in the Market Place


Durham City Farmers' Market listing - 16th May 2013

The Farmers' Market is back so come and join us this Thursday in the Market Place. There will be a wide variety of local, free-range and fresh produce from across the North East.

And you can speak directly with the producers - that way you'll be confident you know exactly where you food has come from.

Also, don't forget, we've also got 50 stalls open in The Market Hall, so pop in and browse while you're in Durham.
