Celebrate St Cuthbert, the patron Saint of Northumbria
St Cuthbert's Day market and celebrations - Wednesday, 20th March
This year, the walkers are expected to arrive in Durham Market Place around 1.30pm, and at 2.30pm they will process behind St Cuthbert's banner up to the Cathedral with piper and drummer leading the way.
It's a day to celebrate Northumbria - and how better to celebrate our wonderful part of the world than with an outdoor market in the Market Place from 9am.
Helping to set the scene will be GetDressedForBattle who'll be in both the outdoor and indoor market - expect some authentic saxon costumed characters!
And The Market Hall, with over 50 stalls by quality local independents, will be open as usual too.
